Mozolová, Michaela ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Foltýn, Dušan (referee)
The diploma thesis Piarists and Lipník (1634-1884) - religious clerics and their influence on the city deals with the order of Piarists from their arrival in Lipník in 1634 until their departure in 1884. The introductory part presents the city of Lipník nad Bečvou, to which the order of Piarists was called . Many historical events took place in Lipník nad Bečvou, which ultimately led to the important step of calling the order of Piarists. In the next part, the diploma thesis discusses the Piarist order, its beginnings, structure and important personalities, describes the college, the church and the novitiate, which was part of the monastery house. I also support the information with foundation documents or other sources. I tried to outline how we remember Piarists nowadays. The thesis also includes a comparison of photos of the church and the dormitory from the 20th and 21st centuries. We have also preserved accounts and protocols for the rebuilding of the church, everything is part of my work. In the diploma thesis, you will also find a description of the events held in the last 20 years, which have a connection to the past of the order. I dedicate the second half of the work to Piarist education. I substantiate this, among other things, with the memories of two students of J. G. Mendel and F....

Christian roots of modern pedagogy
Špunda, Pavel ; Bravená, Noemi (advisor) ; Dřímal, Ludvík (referee)
In this dissertation I analyze issues of Christian roots presentation in primary education. I also emphasis deviation from human being understanding - as being physical and spiritual. Actually physical dimension is preferred. I point to often forgotten pedagogical legacy of apostles saint Cyril and Metod, also their bravery related to the confidence in Jesus Christ legacy. Mentioned three church institutions are not mentioned in the education system, instead of Jesuits. In case of Jesuits, there is totally missing positive point of view and information about benefits for actual education model. This benefit I describe also for other two church institutions, piarists and salesians, whose are not implemented in to the logical documents. Also pedagogic legacy of Jan Amos Komensky is not presented as a work focused on both human dimensions and is limited only on practical part of his pedagogical work. That is why I emphasis those diversions and I described benefits of individual personalities and institutions, their sense and focus on human included, and not only his physical part, but also spiritual. In the end of my dissertation I propose way of Christian roots presentation in RVP ZV, I mention didactic tools useful for their learning at all levels and periods in primary education system.

Šinclová, Eva ; Oulíková, Petra (advisor) ; Pučalík, Marek (referee)
After the arrival of Piarists to Mikulov in 1631, the order began to spread itself all over Czech lands. When colonizing different places the Piarists usually called upon local sculptors, who then fulfilled various iconographical programs in their churches. This theses will cover Piaristic college churches in Moravia and Silesia in a period from settling down of the order to its peak phase in the half of the 18th century. Attention will be mostly paid to individual sculptors, themes and iconographical programs appearing in these churches to determine the common signs of sculptural decorations of Piaristic churches.

Šmied, Miroslav ; Kuthan, Jiří (advisor) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (referee) ; Daniel, Ladislav (referee)
This paper deals with the history of the study and discipline called "History of Christian Art". Beginning with the oldest hagiographic texts, which are not only records of literary history, but in many cases are important in terms of references to building monuments and artworks, among which Kristian's legend is dominant, through the texts of medieval chroniclers, Kosmas, his followers, the Chronicle of Zbraslav Monastery and chronicles from the reign of Charles IV., across the historiography of the Baroque period, which is without a doubt dominated by the work of Bohuslav Balbín and Thomas Pešina of Čechorod, and the period of national awakening, through a boom industry in the nineteenth century, when Ferdinand Josef Lehner made history with his founding work, to the culmination in the activities of representatives of the field the first half of the twentieth century, when it was represented by personalities such as Antonin Podlaha, Eduard Sittler, and Josef Cibulka. Based on the recapitulation and subsequent description of...
The Piarist Order in Bohemia and their Educational Methods
Janušová, Martina ; Hrdlička, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Ventura, Václav (referee)
The Piarist Order was established in Rome by St. Joseph Calasanz. Early after establishing, the order was invited to Czech lands. First, they were introduced to Mikulov (1631) and more colleges were established in Moravia. First college established in Bohemia was in Litomyšl. Piarists were not introduced to Prague until 1752 with contribution from a historian Gelasius Dobner. J. Calasanz dedicated his life to help his neighbours, primarily poor children. For these children, he established primary schools where trivium (reading, writing, counting) was taught. Upbringing and education were the most important to J. Calasanz which is why he wrote several publications on how to conduct schools. Over the course of time, Piarists opened gymnasiums and higher-education schools. The concept of gymnasiums was inspired by Ratio studiorum, a document published by the Jesuits.
